Clinic Policies
At North York Veterinary Clinic, we are dedicated to providing compassionate, safe, and quality care for your pets. To help us serve everyone smoothly and efficiently, we kindly ask our clients to review the following policies.
1. Appointments & Walk-Ins
We operate by appointment to ensure each pet receives the care and attention they deserve. Walk-ins are welcome to inquire, but availability is not guaranteed, and additional waiting time may apply.
2. Appointment Cancellations
If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, we kindly ask for at least 24 hours' notice so we can offer the available time to another pet in need.
3. Payment & Refunds
Full payment is required at the time of service, as we are unable to offer installment plans. Services already provided are non-refundable, except where required by law.
4. Medication Returns
For the safety and quality of our medications, all dispensed medications are final sale and cannot be returned or refunded, except where required by law.
5. Prescriptions & Refills
To ensure safe and effective treatment, we generally provide a maximum two-month supply of medication at a time, when medically appropriate. Follow-up visits or additional testing may be needed before further refills can be approved.
6. Rabies Vaccination
We ask that all pets maintain an up-to-date rabies vaccination when they are healthy and medically eligible. Our veterinarian will assess any health concerns that may affect vaccination.
7. Heartworm Prevention
Before dispensing heartworm preventive medication, we require an up-to-date heartworm test and/or appropriate prevention history, as determined by our veterinarian, to help ensure your pet's safety.
8. Medical Procedures & Treatments
Your pet's safety is always our priority. Certain procedures or treatments may need to be postponed or declined depending on your pet's health, the complexity of the case, or the resources available at our clinic.
9. Emergency & Specialist Referrals
If your pet requires advanced care or specialized treatment, we may recommend an emergency or specialty veterinary hospital to ensure they receive the most appropriate care.
10. International Pet Travel Documents
We carefully review travel documents with pet owners before finalization. Owners are responsible for verifying all information, confirming current airline and destination requirements, and keeping their documents safe. Please understand that final acceptance is determined by the relevant authorities.
Thank You for Your Understanding!
We truly appreciate your cooperation with these policies. They help us maintain a safe and welcoming environment while providing the best possible care for every pet.
Thank you for choosing North York Veterinary Clinic. We look forward to caring for your furry family members!
